Silo Sealing

Fumigating in ordinary silos is a hit and miss approach, killing some weevils, making some ill and possibly building up resistance in future generations.

Silo sealing involves making silos air tight as per the Australian standard (AS2628). As a result air, water and gas cannot enter or escape a sealed silo and insect damage to stored grain is virtually eliminated. The process involves any necessary structural modifications to the silos followed by the application of sealing products.

The Australian Grain Industry Code of Practice recommends sealed storage.

We can install new sealed silos or seal existing silos to comply with the Australian Standard AS2628 to protect your crop, reduce storage costs and reduce the ongoing need for fumigants and minimise chemical residue in the grain to maximise your returns.
